This database corresponds to one study carried out in seven permanent plots (1 ha) in mature forests of Colombian tropical dry forest (TDF). It contains information on eight functional traits of 967 individuals (943 trees and 24 shrubs) belonging to 263 woody species. The functional traits are: LA, leaf area (mm<sup>2</sup>); LDMC, leaf dry matter content (mg g<sup>-1</sup>); SLA, specific leaf area (mm<sup>2</sup> mg<sup>-1</sup>); DApit, pit diameter aperture (μm); FWT, fiber wall thickness (μm); VA, vessel area (μm<sup>2</sup>); WD, wood density (g cm<sup>-3</sup>); H, height (m). <br>
