Complete genome sequence of Staphylococcus coagulans harboring an smr-positive plasmid

To investigate the current status of antiseptic resistance in companion animal medicine in Japan, phenotypic and genetic screening for antiseptic resistance was performed on staphylococcal isolates derived from canine pyoderma. In this study, an smr-positive Staphylococcus coagulans strain (SC18) was identified for the first time in Japan, and its complete genome sequence was determined and analyzed.
