Exploring Young Adults Decision-Making & Emotion Regulation Ability

This Quantitative Retrospective study investigated young adults' decision-making and emotion regulation ability regarding their ACE score. Participant data was analysed using high ACE scores and low ACE scores. The Adverse Childhood Experience questionnaire was modified with a sliding scale to count the frequency of adverse events.Decision-making was assessed using the A-DMC Adult Decision-Making Competency, a 7-sub scale assessment. Participants were assessed on 2 of the seven subscales:Decision Rules (DR) Social Norms (SN1 &amp; SN2). Participants' two scores were scored using the scoring guide (https://sjdm.org/dmidi/Adult_-_Decision_Making_Competence.html). Emotion regulation was assessed using the Perth Emotion Regulation Competence Inventory (PERCI), a 32-item self-report questionnaire that measures emotion regulation (negative and positive).Filtering Data: Participants were filtered out for the following reasons: Minimum Duration was less than or equal to 600s, Participants' location was outside the United States or United Kingdom, Participants were outside the age range of 18 and 25, and Failed Attention Check (Data_validity)—What year is it?
