The Drosophila nephrocyte slit diaphragm exhibits a bilayered, fishnet architecture. This is revealed by the tomographic reconstruction of the cross-section of two wild-type Drosophila nephrocytes, and the subtomogram average of the Drosophila nephrocyte slit diaphragm at 3.9 nm resolution. The data was obtained via cryo-electron tomography.
