资源简介:
This fungus, first classified as being associated with Fusarium fujijuroi and Fusarium proliferatum, two phylogenetically closely related species of the Gibberella fujikuroi species complex, was isolated from a seawater sample (depth 1 m) near the mouth of the Crati River (Sibari), during an environmental monitoring of marine waters and sediments along the Calabrian-Ionian coast. Fungi of the genus Fusarium, and in particular Fusarium fujikuroi, are known phytopathogens belonging to the class of ascomycetes. They are responsible for the Bakanae disease of rice plants, which is transmitted through soil and seeds and causes hypertrophy of infected plants. This disease is caused by the best-known secondary metabolites produced by the fungus, the gibberellins. In fact, one of the classic symptoms is the abnormal elongation of the plants, which is induced by the production of gibberellic acid, an important plant hormone produced by the fungus itself. The genus Fusarium is one of the most abundant endophytic fungal genera, comprising about 70 species. Members of the genus Fusarium have the ability to produce a varied array of secondary metabolites such as sterols, polyketides, alkaloids, terpenes, peptides and other compounds. Alkaloids are the most prolific chemical class produced by different Fusarium species followed by peptides and naphthoquinones. Most of the isolated secondary metabolites exhibited multidimensional bioactivities, such as antimicrobial, antiviral, anticancer, antioxidative, anti-parasitic and immunomodulatory
