Organ donors in Spain 2012-2023

In 2023, the number of deceased organ donors registered in Spain amounted to more than 2,300, up from around 2,200 organ donors reported a year earlier. Spain has been the world leader in organ donation for the last years. Doctors performed a total of 5,861 transplants in Spain in 2023, including 3,688 kidney transplants, 1,262 liver transplants, 479 lung transplants, 325 heart transplants, 100 pancreas transplants, and seven intestinal transplants.
