Aspergillus oryzae and Aspergillus flavus are industrially important filamentous fungi, widely applied in fermentation food production. Both of them belong to Aspergillus section Flavi, and these two species are morphologically similar and closely related genetically. In this study, nine genome sequences of novel, industrially important A. oryzae and A. flavus strains have been generated and compared in detail with three reference genomes.
