Copies of despatches from Governor Sir George Gipps to Lieutenant Governor Hobson conveying instructions and dealing with such matters as land (applications, allotments, purchases, titles, regulations); change in the Lieutenant Governor's commission so that in the event of his death or absence he be succeeded by the Officer in command of the troops; the protector of Aborigines; modifications in Criminal Law; conduct to be observed in respect to foreigners; arrival of the French; New Zealand Company; appointment of Magistrates; Military and Naval matters; and the law respecting the press.
