Complete genome sequence of psychrotrophic deep-sea bacterium Pseudoalteromonas sp. PS1M3. Pseudoalteromonas sp. PS1M3

Here, we report the complete genome sequence of psychrotrophic deep sea bacterium Pseudoalteromonas sp. PS1M3. Pseudoalteromonas is a genus of gram-negative gammaproteobacterium that have been isolated from various marine environments such as, surface to deep sea water, polar sea water and sea ice. Pseudoalteromonas sp. PS1M3 was isolated from deep sea sediments (approx. 5,974m) from the Japan trench off Boso Peninsula (34 degrees 22 minutes north latitude and 141 degrees 25 minutes east longitude). Strain PS1M3 has been constructed to use a genetic transformation system. In genetic transformation, there are the following merit in using the psychrotrophic bacteria Pseudoalteromonas as a host. Protein high expression at low temperatures would be suitable for the production of thermolabile protein. In order to use a host-vector system for genetic transformation, we sequenced the whole genome of strain PS1M3.
