In December 2024, a sediment core was collected from Dongpo Lake, a tropical urban artificial lake located in northeastern Hainan Province, China. This dataset presents grain-size and geochemical records spanning the period 1978–2025. The sheet “210Pb dating” contains 210Pb geochronological data, including sediment depth, excess 210Pb activity, and the corresponding error bars. The sheet “Particle Size (μm)” provides the percentage distribution of particle-size fractions between 0 and 2000 μm for each sediment layer. The sheet “Grain Size Parameters” includes the main grain-size statistical parameters, namely mean grain size, sorting coefficient, skewness, and kurtosis. The sheet “C–M diagram” contains the data used for C–M pattern analysis, including the grain size of the coarsest 1% fraction (C) and the median grain size (M). The sheets “Grainsize vs f-EM” and “Year vs f-EM” present the results of end-member modeling analysis. The sheet “Typhoon-Precip-Wind vs EM” contains correlation analysis data between end-member contribution scores and typhoon-related meteorological variables, including typhoon name, date, intensity near Haikou, maximum wind speed near Haikou, landfall location, total precipitation, and average typhoon intensity. The sheet “Year-Precip vs EM” contains correlation analysis results between end-member contribution scores and precipitation amounts across different rainfall intervals from 1983 to 2025, including precipitation values for four rainfall categories. The sheet “XRF Cps-Ratio-ppm” contains XRF scanning data for elemental intensities, environmentally meaningful elemental ratios and absolute concentration data for elements. The sheet “EF & Igeo” provides enrichment factor (EF) data for eight elements, including sample element/Ti ratios, background values, EF values and geoaccumulation index data.
