County-level fixed and mobile internet download speeds in China, 2019-2024

This dataset provides a county-year-network panel of fixed and mobile internet download speeds in China from 2019 to 2024. It is derived from Speedtest by Ookla Global Fixed and Mobile Network Performance Map Tiles and covers 2,851 county-level units, six years, and fixed and mobile network types, giving 34,212 records. The release includes observed download-speed aggregates, test-count classes, validation-calibrated denoised values for sparsely sampled observations, completion estimates for target-network unobserved records, provenance fields, validation annotations, metadata, validation tables, figures, and reproducibility code. Internet-performance fields are derived from Ookla open data and retain compatible CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 terms. Raw Ookla tiles and other raw auxiliary inputs are not redistributed in this package.
