This set of automated serial sectioning measurements was designed to produce a micrometer-scale, 3D characterization of the microstructure within a region of interest (ROI) of a 2018 additive manufacturing benchmark test series (AM Bench) IN625 specimen built using laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) additive manufacturing (AM). The ROI includes part of a 2.5 mm leg and extends into the baseplate. This work is part the the AMB2022-05 set of AM Bench measurements and is a direct microstructure extension to the measurement data provided by the earlier AMB2018-01 set of benchmarks. For AMB2018- 01, provided data includes powder characterization, detailed information about the build geometry and process, in situ measurements during the build, ex situ measurements of the residual stresses, part distortion following partial cutting off the build plate, location-specific microstructure characterization, and microstructure evolution during a post build heat treatment.
