In this project, we sequenced sequenced exomes from individual schistosome larvae (miracidia) obtained from patient stools from West and East Africa in order to have a comprehensive view of the natural variation in coding regions of the parasite's genome.We specifically analyzed variation in the SmSULT-OR gene , the gene involved in oxamniquine resistance. An exome-wide analysis using these samples is on going.
