Data for "Vegetation Quality Dynamics Induced Summer Warming in Beijing over the Past Four Decades"

This repository provides the datasets supporting the analysis presented in the paper “Vegetation Quality Dynamics Induced Summer Warming in Beijing over the Past Four Decades.” The LAI.xlsx and FVC.xlsx contain time series and phenological dynamics of leaf area index (LAI) and fractional vegetation cover (FVC), derived from the GLASS dataset. The Simulated LST in the two scenarios.xlsx provides land surface temperature (LST) outputs from VIC-Urban simulations, quantified separately for Beijing, the Eco-Zone, and the Urban-Zone. The two scenarios are the "LAI & FVC Change" and "No-change" scenarios mentioned in the paper. The former present a real situation using the actual FVC and LAI values, while the latter uses static FVC and LAI values from 1982. The Energy budget change during 2015-2020.xlsx includes model outputs of net radiation, ground heat flux, sensible heat flux, and latent heat flux for the period 2015–2020.
