By transcriptional sequencing, the differential genes of HMF in the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis and their enriched pathways were predicted, and relevant targets were identified and verified. RNA sequencing analysis revealed that the enhanced fibrosis process was associated with the PI3K/AKT pathway and FKBP5 gene. HMF exhibited inhibitory effects on the phosphorylation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway. Overexpression of FKBP5 worsened fibrosis by boosting oxidative stress, activating the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling, and lowering autophagy.
