资源简介:
This series contains the minutes, correspondence and business papers of the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Ski Club, later referred to as the Elizabeth Murdoch Lodge. The club was an initiative of staff at the hospital to form a ski club and build and operate a ski lodge at Mt. Buller. The ski club commenced in 1960, with it's first meeting held in the student's lecture theatre at RCH on 7/9/1960. A site for the lodge was approved by the Mt Buller Alpine Resort Commission and the lodge was subsequently built. The new lodge was named Elisabeth Murdoch Lodge, and was opened on 24 July 1961.The first item in this series is a large volume with papers glued to its pages. As the volume became too full, papers were inserted loose. There is an alpha index section at the front of the volume which appears to have been used for recording membership. The beginning of the Ski Club is well documented in the first volume and includes:- The constitution (and subsequent versions)- Committee minutes- Instructions, rules- Building plans- Surveyors reports- Legal papers including agreements- Business negotiations and- Costs and financial statements from 1960-1974.The rest of the series is a collection of files containing:- Agendas for general, extraordinary and annual meetings of the Ski Club- Correspondence- Minutes- Constitution (1979)- Rules, reports, guides for use of the club facilities- Financial statements,- Newsletters, notices, social events, membership lists, application forms and- Builder's plans for the Dame Elisabeth Murdoch Ski Lodge at Mt. Buller. These files were indexed and rearranged by a former committee member of the Club in 2007/08 (Treasurer, Noel Cass). They were originally arranged in reverse chronological order in lever arch folders. Notes made by Noel Cass have been included for information.Records for the period 1981-1984 are not extant.Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Archives. They were part of RCH accession number 2007/011 and 2008/0016.
