Canadian Gallup Poll, February 1994

This Gallup poll seeks the opinions of Canadians, on predominantly political and social issues. The questions ask opinions on the past election, Jean Chretien, the 'Information Superhighway', and attitudes toward the reinstatement of the death penalty in Canada. There are also questions on other topics of interest such as the reduction of taxes on cigarettes, opinion of efforts to reduce the deficit, Parliamentary recall, and support for the job retraining program. The respondents were also asked questions so that they could be grouped according to geographic, political and social variables. Topics of interest include: election; Jean Chretien; parliamentary recall; taxes on cigarettes; deficit reduction; information superhighway; death penalty reinstatement; and political party preference. Basic demographic variables are also included.
