Data and R-code associated to manuscript "Global bias towards recording latitudinal range shifts" Abstract: Studies reporting empirical species range shifts worldwide tend to be biased towards sampling areas with geometries that are more elongated along the latitudinal rather than the longitudinal dimension. This increases the likelihood of observing more pronounced shifts over latitude, likely corroborating our expectations of the impacts of climate warming. A global bias towards recording species movements along isotherms’ highways could veil the true direction and magnitude of biodiversity redistributions.
