We investigated the effects of professional dishwasher detergents and rinse aid on cytotoxicity, barrier function and the transcriptome in gastrointestinal epithelial cells. RNA-seq was used for checking transcriptome. Overall design: Monolayered Caco-2 cells were treated with rinse aid in 1:10000 and 1:40000 dilutions for 24 hours. Then, RNA samples were isolated, RNA-seq performed and comparative gene expression analysis done.
