Fecal microbiota in human treated with Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactisand arginine

The 34 adults were assigned to randomly receive a yogurt containing B. animalis subsp. lactis and arginine (n = 18) or a placebo (n = 16). This study was performed for 12 weeks, their feces were collected in week 0 and 12. Fecal bacterial DNA was extracted, and the V1-V2 region of the bacterial 16S rRNA gene was amplified by PCR. Next-generation sequencing were performed using an Ion PGM system.
