Bacterial community in the rhizosphere of Highland barley seedlings under UV-B stress Raw sequence reads

Elevated UV-B radiation has been a persistent threat to crop production since the 1970s. Although the functional roles of soil microbes in promoting plant adaptability to various stresses have been extensively studied, there is limited knowledge on the responses of root-associated microorganisms to the aboveground stressor UV-B radiation. In this study, we investigated the UV-B stress tolerance of 49 highland barley varieties and tested the variation in root microbial communities between UV-B-resistant and UV-B-sensitive plants under conditions with and without UV-B radiation. We also assessed the effects of differentially responsive bacterial species on the growth of a UV-B variety sensitive to the stressor.
