Gurriba Island - Targeting Invasive Weeds on a Remote Island Sanctuary

This project will support the Crocodile Islands Rangers to combine modern methods with Traditional Knowledge to target the invasive weed Caltrop (Tribulus terrestris) on the remote offshore Gurriba Island in North-East Arnhem Land. Gurriba Island is both environmentally and culturally significant and is a nationally significant nesting site for threatened Flatback, Green and endangered Olive Ridley turtles as well as numerous species of migratory birds.
