Transcriptional analysis with RNA-seq of two tall fescue genotypes with contrasting drought tolerance

Transcriptional comparisons were made between two tall fescue genotypes with contrasting drought tolerance (tolerant, T400, and sensitive, S279), either with or without endophyte (Epichloe coenophiala). Drought stress was applied by withholding water until soil volumetric water content reached 10%, 5% and 1%, corresponding to mild, moderate and severe stress, respectively. Transcripts of both well-watered and drought-stressed plants were quantified, and shoots and roots were sampled separately. Three biological replicates were included for each plant type and treatment.
