Sequencing of a Schizophyllum commune mutant named Streak, that often occurs naturally during cultivation. Streak mutants are characterized characterized by roapy, hyperbranching hyphae, suppressed aerial hyphae formation, and the production of pigments. Furthermore, streak mutants are able to fertilize compatible mating partners, but do not accept the nucleus from the mating partner, resulting in unilateral dikaryotization. Stream mutants limit the production of mycelium materials from Schizophyllum commune. In this study we sequenced a naturally occurring Streak mutant to determine the genetics that cause the observed phenotype.
