ORNLERASE - EPA RADON VAPOR INTRUSION SCREENING LEVELS

Radon vapor intrusion screening levels (RVISLs) are a subset of preliminary remediation goals (PRGs), both of which fall under the broader category of screening levels (SLs). RVISLs provide concentration benchmarks for groundwater, soil gas (both sub-slab and exterior to buildings), and indoor air, helping Agency staff make informed decisions about radon vapor intrusion based on limited, initial data. The primary purpose of this dataset is to assist risk assessors, remedial project managers, and other decision-makers working at Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) sites. It supports the development of RVISLs or PRGs for indoor radon isotopes Rn-222, Rn-220, and Rn-219 that are based on risk or dose calculations. Additionally, it aids in demonstrating compliance with the indoor radon standards for Rn-222 and Rn-220 under the Uranium Mill Tailings Radiation Control Act (UMTRCA).
