Chromatin organization is crucial in tissue homeostasis. Heterochromatin decondensation and unscheduled mobilisation of transposable elements, associated with DNA damage, are emerging key contributors of aging and aging-related pathologies, including Alzheimer's disease (AD) and cancer. However, mechanisms preserving heterochromatin, and how in pathological conditions heterochromatin becomes decondensed, are still unclear. Importantly dod (PIN1) loss is associated with premature ageing and AD, maintains heterochromatin. Here we provide a Drosophila RNA-seq of controls and dod (PIN1) mutant Drosophila heads
