This series consists of correspondence relating to the review of the Anti-Discrimination Act, 1977 (Act No. 48, 1977).The Law Reform Commission was inaugurated on 1 January 1966 (1) simultaneously with most provisions of the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1965 (Act No. 32, 1965) and formally constituted by the Law Reform Commission Act, 1967 (Act No. 39, 1967). The Commission’s role was to review, simplify or modernise laws in response to community consultation.The records include memorandums, letters, submissions, discussion papers and research. The correspondence includes letters from individuals and organisations such as the Workers for Law Reform, the Anglican Church Diocese of Sydney and the United Nations Information Centre.The correspondence is arranged in chronological order in bound folders organised by type of documentation.Endnote:1.
