NHANES 1999–2023 Raw CSV Files for the nhanes-helpy Python Package
收藏资源简介:
Comprehensive NHANES 1999–2023 dataset in CSV format, extracted, organized, and aggregated from https://dataverse.harvard.edu/dataset.xhtml?persistentId=doi:10.7910/DVN/WYIIQ1&version=1.0. These files are intended for use with the Python library nhanes-helpy and support automated parsing, aggregation, and cleaning. The library also decodes fields and rows into human-readable form and incorporates details from thousands of pages of PDF codebooks into an internal lookup for quick reference. Package usage: https://pypi.org/project/nhanes-helpy/ Bash pip install nhanes-helpy The files are concatenated to reduce the file count without any loss of columns or rows from the raw data. The Python module can decompress these files into a folder structure that is far more memory-efficient. Python from nhanes_helpy import NHANES_Helper nh = NHANES_Helper() nh.Decompress_Data( compressed_dir="/path/to/Zenodo/Data", destination="directory/for_decompressed/nhanes", ) The library can then load, stack, and decode the data. describe() looks up any column by SAS name or short name and returns its definition, target population, units, and codebook labels: Python nh = NHANES_Helper(data_dir="directory/for_decompressed/nhanes") nh.describe("LBXBCD") # or nh.describe("blood_cadmium_lbxbcd") demo = nh.get_df(set="Demographics", decode_rows=True)
