Enhancer usage in bat star (Patiria miniata) development and regeneration

This study aims to measure chromatin accessibility over development and early regenerating stages of Patiria miniata (the bat star) in order to understand how changes in enhancer usage drive patterns of gene expression necessary for regeneration. Of particular interest is the investigation of enhancer elements differentially accessible between embryogenesis and regeneration. Understanding these mechanisms in bat stars will be important in understanding regeneration as a whole as well as its connection to developmental mechanisms.
