Coded dataset of agri-food environmental input–output studies, with prototype agricultural disaggregation weights (1995–2024)

Supporting data, analysis code, and a prototype weight set for "Inherited, not chosen: agricultural sector resolution in environmental input–output analysis, with a prototype set of disaggregation weights". Contents. The coded database of 155 studies, of which 124 form the PRISMA sample; the scripts that rebuild it and regenerate every table, figure and statistic in the article; and a prototype set of agricultural disaggregation weights: 184 FAOSTAT commodities mapped to fourteen EXIOBASE-aligned sub-sectors, 131 countries on a 2022 basis, plus a year-matched series for 1995 to 2024. The reviewed publications are not redistributed, and the inter-coder answer key is withheld so the reliability exercise can be repeated blind; the kappa results are in analysis/reliability/kappa_run_output.md. Version. v2 adds the year-matched series, the structural-drift record and the FAOSTAT source file. The 2022 default weight table is bit-identical to v0 and v1, and no statistic, table or figure in the article changed. v1 remains archived at 10.5281/zenodo.21850499 and v0 at 10.5281/zenodo.21835671. Three limits before using the weights. Economic baseline, not emission allocation. The weights record economic size, not emission intensity. Because proportional allocation gives every sub-sector the parent's intensity, an environmental total computed from the split reproduces the aggregate exactly. Match the weight year to the table year. A one-year gap moves 3.0% of the median country's agricultural value between sub-sectors, ten years 9.3%, twenty years 14.3%. Applying the 2022 default to a table for 2011 misallocates 9.6% at the median. EU coverage stops after 2017. FAOSTAT's constant-price element carries commodity detail for the EU-27 through 2017 and none from 2018, so the series covers the EU for 1995 to 2017 while the 2022 default does not.
