资源简介:

This research was supported by the project Climate Smart Fagus sylvatica forESTs (CSFagus4EST) 1921BBD6-3109-48FF-97D4-C41D676D844B, funded by the European Union through FORWARDS (Horizon Europe Project No. 101084481) grants to third parties managed by European Forest Institute. Biomass and soil carbon stock (CSFagus4ESTs)The dataset contains the measurements and observations underlying the study “Management practice effects on biomass and soil carbon stock in European beech(Fagus sylvatica L.) forests on Fruška Gora Mountain, Serbia” (DOI: 10.5937/topola2414017M). It includes data on aboveground biomass carbon, soil carbon stocks, and associated forest stand attributes collected from three beech forest stands with differing management histories (unamanaged, high, and coppice). The data support analyses of the influence of stand preservation and management practices on ecosystem carbon storage and its components, as reported in the publication. Inventory, diversity and growth (CSFagus4EST)The dataset contains results of forest inventory, ground vegetation surveys, macro- and micro-nutrient cycling, sap flow measurements, tree growth measurements usingautomatic dendrometers, and tree water deficit assessment obtained across the pilot plots (i.e. differently managed beech forests: high, coppice and unmanaged), supporting integrated analyses of forest structure, functioning, and tree physiological responses under different forest management regimes. Tree crown assessment (CSFagus4EST)Tree crown assessment across the pilot plots (i.e. differently managed beech forests: high, coppice and unmanaged) – defoliation and damages, was performed in 2024 and2025 according to the methodology prescribed by the International Co-operative Program on the Assessment and Monitoring of Air Pollution Effects on Forests(Eichhorn et al., 2016). The data contains the results from these assessments for all sampled trees across the pilot plots, including defoliation scores and recorded damagesymptoms, and can be used to compare tree crown condition among different forest management regimes over the 2024-2025 monitoring period.
