Heritage preservation in Collie through restoring bush and installing signs

The main outcome of this project will be to conserve natural environments and cultural heritage at two sites of cultural significance to Collie Noongar people _ the Harris River Road Aboriginal Reserve and Jack Mears Park. Areas of land at both sites will be cleared of weeds and revegetated using propagated or salvaged plants and an interpretive sign about Noongar history and culture will be designed and installed. A partially completed interpretive pathway at the old Reserve will be repaired and completed, the remains of an ablution block will be restored and a demonstration of a traditional Noongar dwelling, a Mia Mia, will be constructed adjacent to these remains.
