Size 7 in. by 31/2 in.; foll. 115. Seventeen lines in a page. A Commentary (ممزوج) on Shihâb al-dîn (Yaḥya b. Ḥabash) Suhrawardî’s (d. A.H. 587) هیاکل النور, by Jalâl al-dîn (Muḥammad b. As’ad) DAWWÂNÎ (d. A.H. 907 or 908 [= 1512-13 CE]). See for a full account of this work, Flügel, Hdss. Wien, iii. 328 [= no. 1895] (where, however, the name of the commentator is incorrectly given). The name of the Sultan (السلطان بن السلطان بن السلطان) to whom the commentary is dedicated, runs in the text of this MS. as in Flügel, l.c., but on the margin is added the name of ‘Aḍud al-dîn Abu Sa’îd Gurgan (the Timuride, d. A.H. 873 [=1469 CE]) as a variant.1 Written in a not very clear Nasta’liḳ hand, with additions by the author on the margin. The end is wanting. The fly-leaf contains a notice regarding the death of a person at Yazd, which took place A.H. 1176 [= 1762-63 CE]. [Tippu.] 1 Cf. Stewart, 122.
