Tn-seq profiling of Xanthomonas citri pv. mangiferaeindicae GXBS06

This study uses Transposon Sequencing (Tn-seq) to perform a genome-wide screen for genes contributing to growth in Xanthomonas citri pv. mangiferaeindicae. A highly saturated transposon mutant library was grown under rich conditions. Deep sequencing of the transposon insertion sites was used to identify genes that are critical for growth. This study constitutes the first systematic investigation of the essential genome of Xanthomonas citri pv. mangiferaeindicae, providing novel perspectives to advance the understanding of microbial essential genomes.
