Photograph of the Truckee River near Lake Tahoe, ca.1900. There are railroad tracks running parallel to the river on the left side, resting on a bank shored up by a rock barrier. The left side of the river is densely covered with plants, except for a tall hill, on which there are only a few trees. There are large logs floating in the calm water of the river, suggesting that the large triangular building in the distance is a lumber mill. There are other buildings near this one, all of which have steeply slanted roofs and wooden walls.
