EDUCATIONAL SYSTEMS IN THE TIMURID EMPIRE AND THEIR MODERN RELEVANCE
收藏资源简介:
This article explores the structure, principles, and intellectual foundations of educational systems in the Timurid Empire, emphasizing their enduring relevance in contemporary education. The Timurid period, particularly during the reign of Amir Timur and his successors, was marked by a remarkable flourishing of science, culture, and institutionalized learning. Educational institutions such as madrasas functioned as centers of both religious and secular knowledge, integrating disciplines like mathematics, astronomy, philosophy, and literature. Scholars such as Ulugh Beg made significant contributions to scientific progress, highlighting the importance of critical thinking and empirical observation. The article analyzes pedagogical methods, curriculum organization, and the role of teachers in the Timurid educational framework. It also examines how moral education, intellectual discipline, and mentorship were deeply embedded in the learning process. Furthermore, the study draws parallels between Timurid educational values and modern educational reforms, particularly in areas such as interdisciplinary learning, academic autonomy, and the integration of ethical principles into curricula. The findings suggest that the Timurid educational model offers valuable insights for modern education systems seeking to balance tradition with innovation. By revisiting these historical practices, contemporary educators can develop more holistic and culturally grounded approaches to teaching and learning.
