This study investigates the transcriptional responses and metabolic coordination within a synthetic microbial community composed of three denitrifying bacteria (Pseudomonas stutzeri P5F4-3, Shimia sp. pe10, and Ruegeria sp. PMMA7) isolated from marine plastic biofilms. The community was exposed to high-salinity (7%) conditions with or without nitrate supplementation (20 mg/L NO3-N). Metatranscriptomic sequencing was performed to elucidate the differential gene expression, functional division of labor, and stress adaptation mechanisms among the three strains, providing insights into their synergistic denitrification performance in saline wastewater remediation.
