Following the water sample collection standard *Technical Guidance for Sampling of Water Quality Lakes and Reservoirs* (GB/T 14581—1993), investigations and water sampling were conducted on 20 lakes including Lake Hetang Chahannao, Lake Bayin, Lake Dalatulun in the central Ordos Plateau, Mu Us Sandy Land area.
