1,4-dioxane is a Group 2B carcinogen, common from sewage to drinking water, which has gathered concerns on its treatment via biodegradation. Xanthobacter dioxanivorans YN2 is a 1,4-dioxane degrading bacteria with high growth and degradation speed, which can degrade 1,4-dioxane completely with constitutive enzymes, revealing a great potential for 1,4-dioxane treatment. Hence, its genome was sequenced for further researches.
