资源简介:
This study aims to observe how Indonesian fashion designers apply design elements from beskap into their collections. Beskap is a traditional Javanese shirt that has a significant place in Indonesia’s cultural identity. Beskap was created as a symbol of status by integrating Javanese and European design elements. Currently, the increasing interest in Indonesian traditional fashion has led to Beskap being regularly utilized as a source of inspiration for contemporary design. With the increasing global interest in Indonesian traditional attire, this research analyzes 58 garments from three Indonesian fashion brands: KRATON, Wilsen Willim, and House of Radinindra. The study uses a design-based research method, incorporating image analysis, literature review, and field research conducted at Karaton Kasunanan Surakarta Hadiningrat and Pura Mangkunegaran. The analysis focuses on silhouette, collar, closure, garment length, sleeve length, back design, and materials. Findings indicate that tailored silhouettes (64%), high collars (81%), button closures (90%), elongated sleeves (83%), and distinct back openings (76%) are key features retained in contemporary adaptations. The study concludes these structural elements are essential for preserving cultural identity in modern fashion and offers a reference for designers aiming to globalize traditional Indonesian clothing
