Identifying the drivers of microbial communities’ changes and interactions in polluted coastal sediments

Descriptive data including sampling location and region, sediment grain size, contamination and disturbance level, and numerical data including distance from shore and sampling depth, sediment and bottom water layer temperature, water salinity, sediment pH, redox potential and total organic carbon. Data was obtained for 67 surface sediment samples collected in four areas in the northern Adriatic (Croatia): port of Pula (mark PU), port of Rijeka (mark RI), Raša Bay (mark RA), Bakar Bay (mark BA), and three in the southern Adriatic (Croatia): Šibenik Bay (mark SI), eastern part of Kaštela Bay - Vranjic Basin (mark VR), and port of Split (mark ST) as well as in reference areas: Cape Kamenjak (mark CK), Zlarin Island (mark CZ) and Vis Island (mark CV).
