CONTEXTUAL ANALYSIS OF COMPOUND WORDS IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

This article examines compound words in the English language from a contextual perspective. The study focuses on the structural, semantic, and functional characteristics of compounds and investigates how contextual factors influence their interpretation and usage. The research demonstrates that the meaning of compound words is not always predictable from their individual components and often depends on linguistic and situational contexts. Various examples from contemporary English are analyzed to illustrate the role of context in understanding compound formations.
