Ninth Asia-Pacific Conference on Wind Engineering: Welcome and Programme

Welcome The Asia-Pacific Conferences on Wind Engineering (APCWE) are international events conducted every four years under the umbrella of the International Association for Wind Engineering (IAWE). They began with the First Asia-Pacific Symposium on Wind Engineering at Roorkee, India in 1985, and are held in the Asia-Pacific region mid-way between the four-yearly International Conferences on Wind Engineering. The APCWE conferences are international events regularly attended by 200 – 300 wind engineering researchers and practitioners from around the Asia-Pacific regions. The previous conferences were held in Roorkee India, Beijing China, Hong Kong, Gold Coast Australia, Kyoto Japan, Seoul Korea, Taipei Taiwan, and Chennai India in 2013. The Ninth Asia-Pacific Conference on Wind Engineering is being organised and hosted by the University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand. The University of Auckland is New Zealand’s pre-eminent research-led institution, and the Faculty of Engineering has been active in Wind Engineering research and testing since the 1970s. In 2015 it constructed a world-class Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel to further increase its capability in Wind Engineering research. The Organising Committee is delighted to host APCWE-IX, and great efforts are being undertaken to ensure its success. We take pleasure in inviting academicians, engineers, scientists, technologists and architects to actively participate in the Ninth APCWE. APCWE-IX aims to provide a knowledge platform for exchanging state-of-the-art research findings and practical applications in all areas of wind engineering, and to further enhance international collaborations. This Figshare site contains approximately 200 peer-reviewed submitted papers which were presented at the conference, as well as the Keynote papers and bios of the Keynote presenters. The conference is being held in December when you can expect the weather to be warm and pleasant. We urge you to allow time to see some of our wonderful tourist sites and beaches while you are here. 亚太风工程会议（Asia-Pacific Conferences on Wind Engineering, APCWE）是由国际风工程协会（International Association for Wind Engineering, IAWE）统筹主办的国际学术活动，每四年举办一届。该系列会议始于1985年在印度鲁尔基举办的首届亚太风工程研讨会，举办时点介于每四年一届的国际风工程会议之间，所有会议均设于亚太地区举行。

历届APCWE均为国际性学术盛会，通常有来自亚太地区各地的200至300名风工程领域研究者与从业者参会。此前的APCWE举办地包括印度鲁尔基、中国北京、中国香港、澳大利亚黄金海岸、日本京都、韩国首尔、中国台湾台北以及2013年的印度金奈。

第九届亚太风工程会议（APCWE-IX）由新西兰奥克兰市的奥克兰大学承办。奥克兰大学是新西兰顶尖的研究型领军院校，其工程学院自20世纪70年代起便持续开展风工程领域的研究与试验工作；2015年，该校建成了世界级的边界层风洞（Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel），进一步提升了其风工程研究实力。

APCWE-IX组委会对承办本次会议深感荣幸，并正全力筹备以确保会议圆满成功。我们诚挚邀请广大学者、工程师、科研人员、技术专家与建筑师积极参与本次会议。

本次会议旨在搭建学术交流平台，分享风工程各领域的前沿研究成果与实践应用案例，并进一步推动国际学术合作。本Figshare平台收录了本次会议提交并经同行评审的约200篇会议论文，以及主旨演讲（Keynote）的讲稿与讲者简介。
