Bacillus thuringiensis is the most widely used biological pesticide in the world, it belongs to the Bacillus cereus sensu lato group. It is frequently used as an insecticidal agent due to the specific toxin activity towards insects and the lack of toxicity to animals. Now, complete genome sequencing and bioinformatics analyses were conducted to investigate the genetic characteristics of B. thuringiensis strain GS57, and an annotation and description of its genome features is provided.
