Secretory IgA analysis in colic horses

<p><span style="font-size:12.04px">The study quantified the concentration of SIgA in faeces and serum of horses with colic syndrome in relation to healthy horses. Data collected included: animal data, clinical data, baseline test results (WBC, haematocrit, total protein, lactate), peritoneal fluid lactate levels and the object of analysis, i.e. faecal SIgA concentration over 7 consecutive days and D and L lactate levels on admission of the horse to the clinic. The study aims to assess the usefulness of faeces as a source of colic biomarkers in horses of clinical relevance.</span></p>
