The experiment aims to study the dynamics of natural chalk dissolution under acidified groundwater conditions. This is relevant for the scenario of CO2 storage in former oil reservoirs of chalk, as pursued by Denmark in the North Sea (Green Sand project). 3D and 4D imaging at the nanoscale would enable to establish a relationship between the rate of formation dissolution and formation properties (pore network geometry, composition) and the flow rate. To enable such imaging, we will introduce a column experiment injection setup entirely comprised on the sample stage, allowing continuous rotation without external connections.
