The GIGANTES dataset, developed by the Department of Astrophysical Sciences at Princeton University, is currently the most comprehensive and realistic suite of cosmic void catalogs. This dataset contains over 1 billion cosmic voids, spans a volume larger than that of the observable universe, and has a total data volume exceeding 20 TB. It was constructed by running the void finder VIDE on the QUIJOTE dark matter simulations. The GIGANTES dataset includes thousands of cosmological models, covering diverse aspects such as the size, quantity, number of Tokens, and data provenance of cosmic voids. During its development, the void finder VIDE was utilized: this algorithm does not assume any predefined shape of cosmic voids, making it ideal for cosmological analyses requiring precise determination of void morphology. The GIGANTES dataset has applications in precision cosmology, large-scale cosmic structure research, cosmic void studies, catalog and survey analyses, and machine learning. It aims to address key open questions in cosmology, such as whether cosmic voids carry unique cosmological information, and how such information correlates with galactic observational data.
