VPRS 16642 Landholders File Register, Self Indexed

This series is a a self indexed register to Landholder Files. The self indexed register was created to provide access to correspondence files from landholders of property seeking permission from the Soil Conservation Authority to carry out works on their property for which the Authority was responsible for.The register is divided into four columns:- File Numbers (alpha numeric)- Landholder name- Location of the property- Soil Conservation District NameOnce the landholder file was created the name of the landholder was entered into the respective alphabetical index. The files were registered using an alphanumerical system. The file was given a sequential number with an alpha prefix. The alpha prefix was determined by the Landholders surname. The register was continuously updated.Each volume starts where the previous volume ended in regards to registration. This series is not complete and there are pages missing or volumes missing.The alpha prefix is the first letter of a persons surname. The numerical prefix is the next sequential number in the registration process.The whereabouts of the associated files is not known.
