Size Fractions and Soil Health in Agricultural Soils Across Vermont

These data are soil samples from 196 agricultural fields on 77 farms throughout Vermont that were fractionated by size (cutoff of 53 microns) into particulate organic carbon (POC) and mineral-associated organic carbon (MAOC) fractions. These samples were also sent off to Cornell Soil Laboratory for their CASH (Comprehensive Assessment of Soil Health) analysis. We also obtained mean annual precipitation and temperature from PRISM. Our goal was to understand the factors affecting the amount and proportions of POC and MAOC and their relationship with soil health indicators. These data are presented in Lane, E., K. White, A.
