Tomato, a typical greenhouse crop, is cultivated through seedlings in various substrates followed by transplantation in the soil. However, research on root bacterial community characteristics of tomatoes in this planting mode is rare. Herein, we investigated the diversity change in root bacterial community characteristics of tomatoes under different cultivation media and compared it with changes observed after transplantation. We also predicted the corresponding functions of the different bacterial communities. Tomatoes were planted in pots containing three cultivation media, including soil and two substrates types, in a greenhouse, and a transplanting treatment was set. After collecting tomato root samples, high-throughput sequencing and bioinformatic analysis were used to compare the differences in bacterial diversity and functions, of tomato roots before and after transplanting in different cultivation media.
